Welcome to Shir Hadash Reconstructionist Synagogue - a very exciting and creative liberal Jewish congregation.

 

As Reconstructionist Jews we believe that there are many doorways to discovering a meaningful contemporary Judaism. At Shir Hadash, we open these doors through creative spirituality & prayer, programming, study and the joyous celebration of our Jewish tradition and heritage. For some the door opens to the creative arts of music, dance, drama and visual arts. For others it is through adult study or serving as a teacher in our exciting religious school. For others, still, it is in leading our congregation and its committees.

 

Our members and professional staff work together to create a synagogue community where both children and adults can explore the fullness of Jewish life and what we call the “Values of Spiritual Peoplehood” - Jewish values that enrich our lives with holiness, meaning and purpose. As Reconstructionists, we view Judaism as more than a religion; it is a whole religious civilization to be enjoyed and celebrated in a caring community.

 

In a fast paced and hi-tech world, Shir Hadash is about forming the cherished relationships of friends which quickly feel like family. Together, we share the radiance of festivals and the joyous blessings of life and growth. We support each other through life's difficulties and sorrowful losses as well. You will find that Shir Hadash is a community of warmth, love and support.
